The Sangha

Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a spiritual brotherhood of monks and selfless workers devoted to the service of humanity for the last 100 years. The Sangha is well known for disaster relief work at the time of natural calamities like flood, famine, earthquake as well as various types of humanitarian services in  the  field of health-care, education, tribal-welfare, socio cultural, moral and spiritual upliftment. It is worth mentioning that the Sangha has been recognized by the Govt. of India as “An Institution of National Importance”.

Founder

Acharya Shreemat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj, one of the greatest patriot saints of India was the founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha. He was an incarnation of Lord Shiva. His ideals of sacrifice and selfless service to humanity are still guiding the Sangha’s multifarious  philanthropic activities.  

The Project

The total estimated project cost for first and second phase of the hospital will be around Rs. 250 crores. The hospital is located in serene and pollution free area, situated at the junction of vast rural area of south 24 Parganas with limited medical facilities and urban locality of southern part of Kolkata city. Land area of the hospital situated on Diamond Harbour Road measures about 9 acres.

Aims and Objective

This hospital is aiming mainly to serve the weaker and poor section of the society, irrespective of caste, creed or colour with advanced and updated medical equipments and technology for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation under one roof.

To make a platform for competent medial for competent medical professionals from Kolkata, other part of the country and abroad with mind set for dedicated service to work together to serve all section of the society, particularly the improvised and marginalized population belonging to lower socio –economic strata.

To provide quality health care accessible and affordable for all, particularly for the weaker segment of the society and focus on a Holistic approach covering physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects.

  1. Service to patient. Training of medical and paramedical personnel. Research – to prevent illness, to bring down medical cost, to cure illness.
  2. Make available up to date modern equipment – technology for investigation and treatment under one roof coupled with a spirit of love, devotion, dedication and compassion.
  3. Ensure extremely moderate hospital charges and poor patient of certain economic criteria will be treated free of cost. To make a non-profit, non-commercial and publicly trusted medical institution.
  4. Cater nourishing food and nutrition to the patients and maintain the best possible cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital.
